1978
Mitsubishi Mirage (Colt)
The Mirage (Colt), launched in March 1978, was originally developed in response to the global call for greater conservation of resources and better fuel economy. It had a stable trapezoidal shape, a low-drag slanting front and flush surface panels. It was also the first car to feature Super Shift transmission, with a secondary shift level that allowed the driver to change between Power and Economy ranges, for high performance and low fuel consumption.
